Spring colours ahoy!

Here’s a guest post from fashion blog StylePile.com

This season is a true celebration of the diversity of fashion and has something in store for every fashion personality type. The two trends that have us most excited for the upcoming season are on the opposite ends of the color spectrum. This season fashion got back to basics and reinvented the iconic combination of black and white. Black and white are like the power couple of fashion, sophisticated and chic and always make a statement. In stark contrast to this play on primary colors was the season’s riot of hot and bold color palettes. While we love the timelessness of a neutral ensemble, we couldn’t be more jazzed about this season’s rainbow-bright color palette. The array of bold hues is certainly refreshing and so much fun to wear.  Whether you opt for a little or a lot of color, this is one of the easiest ways to upgrade your dress code. We have curated cool new outfits that will help you put your own stamp on each of these new trends:

Look 1: Black & White and chic all over

There’s something to be said about using the sleek, basic color combination of black and white. It might be the most tried-and-true color combination, but still packs a sharp punch. The dynamic pairing was a big hit on the Spring Summer runways and is a current favorite of the fashion forward crowd. Appropriate to wear year-round, easy to pull off at every budget, and sleek enough to work at the office or on date nights, this trend is the very definition of wearable.

Get your black-and-white fix in one go with this color blocked dress. Make it cocktail hour worthy with a pair of black and white heels and a shimmery clutch. The clean palette is a great opportunity to play up with accent hues like a bold red lip. A sleek watch and earrings bring the perfect finishing touches to the sophisticated look.

Look 2: Pretty in Pink

Fashion is having a bright moment right now – everything from dresses to shoes to sunglasses have been dipped in boisterous shades for Spring. While it may be tempting to play it safe by teaming bright pants with neutral basics, this ensemble proves that mixing it up can be way more chic. The secret to getting it right? Stick to hues within the same color palette. A vibrant mix of colors keeps this look unexpected and modern. The color blocked top makes a bold statement when paired with pink pants. The turquoise bag and necklace provide a contrasting pop of color to the pink color scheme and the silver flats are the perfect footwear to compliment the easy breezy look.

LOOK 3: Pale Riders

After countless decades of neutrals and basic colors, men’s fashion finally seems to have embraced the colour wheel. Over the past few seasons, bold and bright hues have been seen in many designers’ collection making them a truly established feature of every man’s wardrobe. The easiest way to introduce colour to your wardrobe is through soft pastels. Take your style cues from this look and use sorbet hues as an accent to highlight an otherwise neutral outfit.  A pair of mint colored shorts is a great way to add subtle color to a casual weekend attire. Partner it with a basic grey tee layered under a navy shirt. Boat shoes in a darker hue ground the look and adds to the casual vibe.

LOOK 4: Check Mate

When it comes to men’s dressing black and white is the quintessential colour combination. The sharp punch of ebony and ivory is ever so modern and sleek. Whether you’re incorporating these hues through a few accents or theming your entire outfit around this color duo, you’re sure to achieve a high-end, high-style look. While it’s impossible to ignore the powerful impact of a black and white suit, it’s unequivocally cool to try out this dressing palette for a casual outfit as well. Start with a pair of relaxed fit white pants and pair them with a crisp black shirt. Use noir extras like shoes and sunglasses to punctuate the outfit for a striking result.
